About Quartz: Quartz is formed through several processes, often involving high temperatures and pressures. One common way is through the hydrothermal process where mineral-rich fluids heat up and move through spaces in rocks, leaving behind quartz crystals as they cool and solidify12. Quartz can also form from high-temperature molten rock cooling and solidifying, especially if the rock is rich in silica, like granite3. Another process involves silica-rich water solutions deeply buried under sedimentary rocks that become heated and pressurized over time, and quartz is deposited on the surrounding rock surfaces45.
