Geology Walk and Scavenger Hunt at the Crystal Festival

Join us for an immersive, hands-on geology adventure at the Crystal Festival in Layton on February 21st and 22nd, 2026. The Geology Walk and Scavenger Hunt is a self-guided experience designed for kids, families, and curious minds of all ages. You may participate on either day at any time between 10 AM and 8 PM, allowing you to explore at your own pace and stay as long as you like.

During the Geology Walk and Scavenger Hunt, each participant receives a container and a map to guide them through the show. Along the way, you will collect more than 15 rocks, minerals, fossils, gemstones, and other geological treasures. As you move through the event, you will encounter learning stations, hands-on activities, and dozens of incredible vendors, all while building a take-home collection that turns learning into a lasting memory.

Classes, workshops, and kids’ activities take place throughout the entire show, making it easy to play, learn, and explore all day or return for a second day. Be sure to visit our Educational Hall, where you can discover interactive displays, attend classes and workshops, and connect with experts from across the geology and crystal community.
