🪨 Hands-On Geology: 10-Week Online Geology Adventure

10 weeks of live online geology + an incredible hands-on geology kit delivered to every student!

This isn’t your typical online class!

Students will meet LIVE online every Thursday from 9:00–10:00 AM for an engaging, interactive geology lesson — then use their own collection of real rocks, minerals, fossils, and geology tools to explore the concepts we learn about together.

Each student will receive a hands-on geology kit containing 50+ specimens and tools, giving them the opportunity to examine, test, identify, and investigate real geological specimens right from home.

🌎 10-Week Course Topics

Week 1 — Earth Processes

How our planet changes, moves, and creates the rocks and landscapes around us.

Week 2 — Natural Disasters

Volcanoes, earthquakes, tsunamis, landslides, and other powerful forces of nature.

Week 3 — Rocks & Minerals

Learn how rocks and minerals form, how to tell them apart, and how geologists identify them.

Week 4 — All About Fossils

Discover how fossils form, what they can tell us about Earth’s past, and how paleontologists study them.

Week 5 — Rocks & Minerals We Use Every Day

Explore the surprising ways rocks and minerals are part of our homes, technology, food, transportation, and everyday lives.

Week 6 — Deadly Rocks & Minerals ☠️

Some minerals are beautiful…but dangerous! Learn about toxic, radioactive, and otherwise hazardous minerals.

Week 7 — Fluorescent Rocks ✨

Turn off the lights and turn on the UV! Discover why some minerals glow and investigate your own fluorescent specimens.

Week 8 — All About Geodes 💎

What’s hiding inside a geode? Learn how these incredible formations develop and explore the crystals inside.

Week 9 — How Animals Use Rocks & Minerals 🐦🦷

From birds using rocks to help digest food to animals seeking out minerals in the wild, discover the fascinating relationship between animals and geology.

Week 10 — Geology Investigation & Discovery 🔎

Put your new geology skills to work with hands-on specimen investigations, identification challenges, and a final geology adventure!
