Welcome to the Crystal Barista Egypt Trip and the geology lessons that come with it!

We were able to visit to Cairo, learn about the Egyptian Red Granite, and Basalt Mines
It is incredible to note how far the mines for the great pyrmaids and sphinx were from the monuments themselves.
Luxor Temple, Hurghada
Always on the go, The Crystal Barista breezes through the Temple of Luxor, spends a night at Hurghada, and visits a historic Coptic Orthodox monastery, before winding up in Alexandria to prepare for an underground descent into the past.
Did you know? Alabaster which is the Egyptian name for the Calcium Carbonate mineral mined near the Valley of the Kings on the West Bank of the Nile River in Luxor, Egypt. Alabaster is a term used for a variety of stones from Egypt as the name comes from the term “A-Labaste” which refers to canopic jars made from Calcite that had effigies of the Egyptian Goddess Bast dating back more than 4,000 years.
Historic Alexandria, Below and Above
In the last video of our Egypt Adventure series, The Crystal Barista travels into the Kom el-Shoqofa catacombs, visits the Roman-built Amud El-Sawari (or Pompey's Pillar), stops by the renovated Citadel of Qaitbay, and ends our trip with the astonishing Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
